Marion Lee Baily grew up in rural Chanute on the family farm, where his lifelong dedication to agriculture spanned more than 75 years—on the very land where he was born. A proud 1956 graduate of Chanute High School, Marion attended a rural elementary school, Royster Junior High, and served as the 1955–56 FFA Class President. He was also a member of the National Guard. This scholarship honors his legacy by awarding a $500 scholarship to a Chanute High School graduate.
